Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo: A Proud FCT Native Appointed as Minister by Tinubu

Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo, born on April 3rd, 1970, is a multi-talented individual who has excelled in various fields, including politics, public relations, and administration. He has an impressive educational background, having attended Garki Primary School in Abuja from 1977 to 1982 and later Government Secondary School in Karu from 1983 to 1988. He furthered his studies at the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology in Jos in 1992 and the Nigeria Institute of Journalism in Lagos in the same year. Subsequently, he pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Jos from 1999 to 2001.

To enhance his knowledge and skills, Zaphaniah Jisalo went on to achieve an Advanced Diploma in Applied Psychology and a Diploma in Criminal Justice and Administration from the University of Jos. He also took up studies in Public Relations at the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology. In his quest for expertise, he undertook additional courses on Government Policies, Planning, and Implementation at Thames Valley University in London, UK.

Zaphaniah Jisalo’s professional journey commenced as a Public Affairs Officer with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from 1990 to 2002. Later, he made a foray into politics and achieved success as the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in 2004, winning re-election in both 2007 and 2010 due to his effective leadership.

In 2011, he reached a significant milestone in his political career, being elected into the Federal House of Representatives under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Abuja Municipal/Bwari Constituency. His dedication and commitment to service led to his re-election in 2015, and he served diligently in the 7th and 8th National Assembly.

During his tenure as a member of the House of Representatives, Zaphaniah Jisalo actively contributed to various House Committees, including those related to Sports, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Defense, Customs & Excise, Appropriations, and National Security & Security.

In 2022, he was appointed as the FCT Co-ordinator of the Tinubu Solidarity Group (TSG). Zaphaniah Jisalo hails from Garki in Abuja Municipal Area Council LGA and is happily married with children.
